Background
Ma Tunan, famed for his Mighty Drop, boasted he was unrivaled. He scoffed when the slender Yu Jinyi claimed to have a counter. Yet Yu defeated him with a refined version that kept the power but shed its raw, excessive force, making it easier to master. Humbled, Ma demoted his own art and the two became sworn brothers. Later, joined by Cao Xiong, the trio spread this technique widely after Huang Chao's fall.
