Where Winds Meet sects

Sects are factions with their own rules, weekly standing and cosmetic or progression rewards. Choose one whose required behavior fits what you already enjoy; there is no universal best sect, and a weapon does not permanently lock you to its associated organization.

How sect membership works

Open the sect menu and inspect Rules, Legacy and Status before joining. A sect asks you to maintain standing through characteristic activities and can penalize behavior that contradicts its code. Its shop and rank rewards are a reason to remain active, but they do not replace normal character progression.

The launch-era menu showed more organizations than could actually accept members. Availability expands with versions: Mohist Hill became a joinable organization with Hidden Mountain. Trust the current Status panel and joining clue rather than an old list of four launch sects.

Well of Heaven and Silver Needle

Well of Heaven suits a righteous, redistribution-focused role. Its rules discourage harming fellow members and excessive personal earnings; its associated legacy includes Thundercry Blade. Choose it when the code matches how you want to behave, not only to collect an ability.

Silver Needle is the natural fit for players who enjoy the Healer profession and multiplayer healing. Its tasks and values revolve around treating injuries, while fan-related techniques complement a support identity. The joining clue leads through the healer area in Qinghe; follow the current quest text because localized NPC and objective names can change.

Nine Mortal Ways and Midnight Blades

Nine Mortal Ways rewards trickster activities and playful deception. It is associated with Mortal Rope Dart and has a very different routine from a conventional combat faction. Read prompts carefully: impersonation and misleading invitations are part of its theme.

Midnight Blades is aimed at players comfortable with combat-oriented rules and player confrontation. Its legacy is associated with Infernal Twinblades. Check the rule panel before joining, because the activities required to preserve standing may be a poor match for a player focused only on cooperative PvE.

Mohist Hill and later-version sects

Mohist Hill arrived with the Version 2.0 Hidden Mountain era. Official material describes progression from apprentice through research, mentorship and submitting creations, with engineering, craftsmanship and practical problem-solving at the center of the faction.

Older videos may classify Mohist Hill or other organizations as unavailable because they document Version 1.0. Always compare the video's version and upload date with the in-game Status panel and the updates page.

Changing or leaving a sect

Do not assume changing allegiance is consequence-free. The game shows a confirmation and any active restriction before departure; rejoining can introduce a waiting period. Read that current screen instead of relying on an old cooldown value.

Associated Martial Arts can have acquisition routes outside membership, so joining every sect only for a weapon is unnecessary. Pick according to rules, activities and rewards you want to maintain, then use the weapons guide to compare combat roles.
