Background
When an imperial decree threatened Jianguo Temple, Master Huiyun prayed before Maitreya. The Buddha appeared, golden light dazzling the eyes and sacred chants filling the air for three days. The emperor, moved by a dream, spared the temple and renamed it Grand Imperial Temple. In deep meditation before the statue, Huiyun attained the Dharma of the Imperishable Golden Body, later sealed in the temple's Scripture Hall .
